Recognizing the unprecedented situations and complex difficulties created by the coronavirus Pandemic, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew instructed the Ecumenical Patriarchate Network for Pastoral Health Care to organize an online conference on: “The Pastoring Church in the days of the Pandemic”.
The Conference will give the opportunity to local Churches and international health scientists and professionals to share their experiences and discuss the difficulties they face during this period.
Participants will reflect on how the pastoring Church can empower people infected with the virus and support the people who mourn those who have fallen victims of COVID-19, how it can support and collaborate with health scientists, medical and nursing staff, as well as hospital staff who are struggling to save lives, how it can care for those living alone or in isolation, as well as people whose family and life balance has been disturbed, how it can support the clergy that faces daily various attacks, contradictions and controversies due to the Pandemic and how it can contribute to dealing with the effects of the Pandemic in the future.
Most important of all, the Conference will deal with how we experience our Faith and Church during this ordeal.
The Conference will start on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m.
The main speaker will be Dimitrios Mavropoulos (Theologian, Author and Publisher).
A discussion will follow.
