Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay announced that Turkey will continue its research in the Eastern Mediterranean and stressed that this research will be extended to the South of Crete.
In an interview with CNN Turk, Oktay said, “We on our continental shelf and anywhere can do research and do not need anyone’s permission or approval. As you know, at some point we withdrew our ships in the framework of the agreement with Greece. But now we continue and we will continue our work. This area also includes the area resulting from the EEZ agreement with Libya. In these areas are included the areas South of Crete. We will continue.”
When the Turkish Vice President was asked if Ankara pays attention to Greece’s reactions, he stressed that “not only Greece but any country, whatever it says, Turkey will not concede a shred of land or a drop of water. No matter the cost. We just do research in our own lands, in our own Blue Homeland, we mind our own business. As we do not interfere in anyone, so we will not allow anyone to interfere in us.”
