Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece presided today over the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed Auxiliary Bishops of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
The ceremony included Bishop Ioannis of Skiathos, Secretary General of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece; Bishop Varnavas of Christoupolis, Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens; Bishop Nikodimos of Epidaurus, General Director of the Central Financial Service of the Church of Greece (EKYO); and Bishop Theologos of Talantion, Director of the Pastoral Training Institute (IPE) of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
Following the administration of the oaths, Archbishop Ieronymos offered his warm wishes to the new Bishops for fruitful ministry, cooperation, good health, and strength, while also outlining the responsibilities and challenges of the work ahead.
“The new Bishops have already been close collaborators in the work of the Church,” the Archbishop noted, emphasizing that “the past is always a teacher for us all and a starting point for new decisions.” He added that each person brings unique gifts to the shared mission, stressing the importance of unity and collective effort: “Since we are all working together in the same vineyard, our goal is to move forward for the good of society and the people.”
Concluding his remarks, Archbishop Ieronymos expressed the hope that any mistakes of the past would be avoided, and that necessary improvements would be made wherever needed, for the benefit of all and for the overall mission of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
