Information about the departure of 7 monks from the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi as a reaction to the visit of the Ukrainian delegation that has been seen circulating in the last few hours is untrue.
According to Romfea.gr, the Vatopedi Monastery has been hosting a delegation of monks from Russia, Moldova and Ukraine for some time.
These monks were not members of the Vatopedi Monastery, but they asked to be temporarily hosted. The Monastery provided them accommodation without a second thought.
On Sunday, these monks decided to return to the St. Panteleimon (Russian) Monastery, and thanked the Vatopedi Monastery for their hospitality.
