The Ecumenical Patriarchate solemnly celebrated the Feast of the Circumcision of Christ and the memory of Saint Basil the Great.
After the Vespers service, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew cut the vasilopita, who presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Georgios the following day.
Metropolitans Meliton of Philadelphia, Chrysostomos of Myra, Theoliptos of Ikonio, Stefanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos, Chrysostomos of Kyrineia, Athinagoras of Kydonia and Archbishop Job of Telmessos participated in the New Year Divine Liturgy. Metropolitan Elder Konstantinos of Nicaea and Bishop Kyrillos of Abydos were prayerfully attending in the altar.
In his speech, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke about the most important events of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the past year.
