Patriarch Kirill of Moscow verbally attacked Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on the occasion of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s visit to Ukraine.
After the service of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, during his sermon, Patriarch Kirill referred to the visit of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine.
“Let the Blessed Virgin Mary help maintain the unity of the Orthodox Churches, which is being dissolved today by the forces of evil.
And we know what is happening today in ecumenical orthodoxy, that these forces are trying to tear apart the unity of the Orthodox Church by taking advantage of the very difficult situation in which Ukraine found itself.
And they are somewhat successful: for example, the sinful and hard-to-explain visit of the Patriarch of Constantinople to Kyiv and the co-liturgy with the schismatics,” was the statement of Patriarch Kirill, as published in the RIA news agency.
It is reminded that a few days ago the historic visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine, which took place at the invitation of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the Primate of the Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and Ukraine, was completed.
The Ukrainians welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch with great love and joy, while his visit and the service he performed together with Metropolitan Epifaniy, confirmed inside and outside Ukraine the legitimacy and completeness of the newly formed Church of Ukraine.
