On Sunday, June 30, at 14:30, the name of the new Patriarch of Bulgaria will be announced, according to the schedule published by the Patriarchate of Bulgaria. This event marks the election and enthronement of the successor to the late Patriarch Neofit.
The proceedings will begin on Saturday, June 29, with the registration of the representatives of the Patriarchal Electoral Assembly in the morning. In the afternoon, a solemn vespers service will be held at the Church of Hagia Sophia, officiated by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop, with the participation of the Primates and representatives of the Autocephalous Churches.
On the morning of Sunday, June 30, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the representatives of the Orthodox Churches will be welcomed at the Church of Saint Kyriaki, and then a Trisagion service will be held at the tomb of the late Patriarch Neofit.
Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, held early in the morning, the vote will take place between 09:15 and 12:00. The name of the elected Patriarch of Bulgaria will then be announced at 14:30 on Sunday, June 30.
The elected Patriarch will be enthroned in the presence of the Metropolitans at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
The new Patriarch will be elected from among Metropolitans Grigory of Vratsa, Daniil of Vidin, and Gavriil of Lovchan.
