Amid shouts of “Axios” and applause from those in attendance, the new Metropolitan Grigorios of Paphos was ordained at the Cathedral of the Apostle Barnabas.
The ordination took place on the feast day of the founder and patron saint of the Church of Cyprus, during a hierarchical concelebration presided over by Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus and Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna, the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The enthronement of the new Metropolitan will take place this afternoon at the Cathedral of Agios Theodoros in Paphos.
