With joy, the clergy and the people of Alexandria gathered today, Friday, October 23, 2020, at the recently renovated Ibrahimia Church of St. Nicholas, to participate in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the joyful event of the Ordination of the new Deacon Fadi Dib of the Arabic-speaking community.
The Orthros was officiated by the Patriarchal Commissioner of Alexandria, Metropolitan Narcissus, who with the blessing of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodore II, preceded the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and performed the Ordination along with Clergy of Alexandria.
The new Deacon, Father Fadi, comes from Alexandria. He is married to a Greek woman, who is an Ecclesiastical School graduate and he is a father of two children.
He was raised in the Orthodox youth of the Catechetical Schools and the Scouting of the Orthodox Arab Community; he is a graduate of the Alexandria School of Commerce, while he continues his studies online at the Theological St. Mark’s Academy of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Among the congregation in the Divine Liturgy were the President of the Community Marco Vasili, as well as many faithful Arabs and Greeks from the area, who congratulated the new clergyman.
