The resumption of exploratory talks between Greece and Turkey was welcomed by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Specifically, during the joint press statements with the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the resumption of the dialogue between the two countries and noted that “good progress” has been made in the technical talks between Greece and Turkey within NATO.
As he noted, among other things, “the goal is to create a de-confliction mechanism with the aim of avoiding conflict and incidents and accidents at sea or in the air.” “These meetings are ongoing and good progress has been made. These are technical military talks. “They complement the diplomatic efforts led by Germany to resolve the underlying disputes.”
