During a Reception in honour of the Feast Day of Archbishop Elpidophoros, the National Ladies Philoptochos Society offered a $10,000 donation toward the Clergy Pension Fund.
Newly appointed National Philoptochos President Arlene Siavelis Kehl of Chicago personally presented the check on behalf of all the members Philoptochos nationwide.
Archbishop Elpidophoros remarked, “This estimable gift of the National Ladies Philoptochos Society is truly an honour, not only to me but to all of the Clergy of the Archdiocese. The Clergy Pension Fund continues to be a priority for the Archdiocese, and this gift will be the seed that will grow, helped along by other generous donors and benefactors, to ensure a stable future and retirement for our clergy.”
The Reception at the Cathedral Center of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity followed the Archierarchical Divine Liturgy celebrating both the 29th Anniversary of the Enthronement of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and also the Feast Day of the Patron Saint of Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
