On the morning of Pascha Sunday, April 12, 2026, the Vespers of Love was celebrated at the Archiepiscopal Church of Holy Wisdom in Adelaide, bringing together faithful from all parishes of the city.
The service began with a solemn procession from the offices of the Holy Diocese to the church, presided over by Bishop Silouan of Adelaide, accompanied by the local clergy. In accordance with Orthodox tradition, the Gospel was proclaimed in multiple languages—including Greek, English, Latin, German, and Indonesian—highlighting the universal character of the Christian message.
In his brief homily, Bishop Silouan spoke about the Resurrection of Christ and its significance for all humanity. At the conclusion of the service, he distributed traditional red eggs to the faithful as a Paschal blessing.
Following the service, the clergy returned in procession while chanting Paschal hymns, and the congregation gathered in the nearby parish hall. There, they shared in festive hospitality, exchanging red eggs according to custom and enjoying traditional Easter treats offered by the Ladies’ Philoptochos Society.
The celebration reflected both the spiritual joy of the Resurrection and the unity of the Orthodox community in Adelaide.
