From the early hours of the morning, members of the public have been making their way to Sioni Cathedral to pay tribute once more to the memory of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia.
The 141st Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, passed away on March 17 at the age of 93.
For several days, public memorial services were held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, where countless faithful came to bid farewell to the beloved spiritual leader.
