On April 12, the feast of the Resurrection of Christ, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow celebrated the Vespers of Love at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
Concelebrating with the Patriarch were numerous hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, including Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsy and Kolomna, Metropolitan Grigory of Voskresensk, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Metropolitan Feognost of Kashira, and other archbishops, bishops, and clergy of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Also participating in the service were representatives of Local Orthodox Churches at the Moscow Patriarchal Throne, including Metropolitan Niphon of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, Bishop Stefan of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and clergy from the Jerusalem Patriarchate, the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, and the Orthodox Church in America.
Among those present in prayer were church officials, representatives of Orthodox organizations, clergy, monastics, Orthodox youth, and a large number of faithful.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the Patriarchal Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Juvenaly, on behalf of the participants and the Russian Orthodox Church, extended Paschal greetings to the Patriarch.
Representatives of Orthodox youth also conveyed their greetings, while the Patriarch addressed the faithful with a primatial message.
Hierarchs, clergy, and laity of Moscow and the Moscow Metropolis then offered their Paschal greetings to their Primate.
In his concluding remarks, Patriarch Kirill emphasized the growing role of the World Russian People’s Council, noting that it must continue its active and creative mission in supporting society and strengthening love for the homeland.
