Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met on June 18 with representatives of the academic community of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The delegation included Protopresbyter Zoran Ranković, former Dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade (2019–2025), and Zoran Nedeljković, Director of the Library of the Serbian Patriarchate.
During the meeting, the Serbian scholars presented the progress of their work on cataloguing Serbian ecclesiastical manuscripts preserved in the collections of the State Historical Museum of Russia, with plans for future scholarly publications in both Russia and Serbia. They also noted that similar research projects have already been completed in Slovakia, Austria, and the Vatican.
The discussion also focused on strengthening academic cooperation between the Moscow and Serbian Patriarchates, the longstanding fraternal relations between the two Churches and their peoples, as well as contemporary challenges to Christian witness and pan-Orthodox unity.
