More than 55,000 worshipers went at the feast of the Taxiarch at Mantamados

The celebration of the inauguration of the Holy Temple of Pammegiston Taxiarchon in Mantamados, Lesvos, took place on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday May 12, with the participation of many faithful people from Lesvos and all over Greece.

On Saturday afternoon, May 11, the Great Archieratic Vespers was officiated by Metropolitan Demetrios of Cephalonia along with Metropolitan Eusebius of Samos and Ikaria, Metropolitan Ierotheos of Zichni and Nevrokopion, Metropolitan Pavlos of Servia and Kozani and Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Mithimni.

On Sunday morning, Metropolitan Eusebius of Samos and Ikaria officiated at the Matins which was celebrated along with the Archpriests Theologos of Serres and Nigriti (who arrived in Lesvos on Sunday morning), Ierotheos of Zichni, Pavlos of Servia and Kozani, Demetrios of Cephalonia and Chrysostomos of Mithimni.

The procession of the Sacred Icon of the Holy Archangel’s around the church of PammegistonTaxiarches at Mantamados, followed.

The following day, Monday of the Holy Myrrhbearers, an Archieratic Concelebration of the Divine Liturgy was held.

Metropolitan Dorotheos of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Kea, Milos and Mykonos officiated at the Matins which was concelebrated with the Metropolitans Ierotheos of Zichni and Nevrokopion, and Demetrios of Cephalonia.
