On May 1, 2026, the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, received at the Patriarchate of Georgia the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili, along with her deputies Giorgi Zurabashvili and Khatuna Totladze.
The discussion focused on meetings with Georgian diaspora communities abroad, where various events will be held in connection with the 1700th anniversary of Christianity’s proclamation as Georgia’s official religion.
Also present at the meeting were Metropolitan Daniel (Datuashvili) of Chiatura and Sachkhere, and the Head of the Patriarchate’s Public Relations Office, Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze.
