On the occasion of his first-ever visit to Mpulungu, Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia and Mozambique paid an official visit to the Palace of Chief Tafuna.
Metropolitan Ioannis visited as a sign of respect for the traditional leadership’s authority, to discuss the commencement of mission work in the area, the Feast of Epiphany, the blessing of the waters, and the possibility of acquiring land for the construction of a church.
His Royal Highness was very pleased and warmly welcomed the Orthodox Church into his area, expressing great happiness and his full acceptance.
