Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia officiated today, Sunday, February 14, at the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called, in the Greek community of Quito.
After the Divine Liturgy, he blessed the bread offered by the faithful for the feast of Saint Charalambos and performed the Mystery of Unction for the health and help of the ill.
The Metropolitan referred to the event of Canaanite Woman and spoke about the role and timeless value of the Greek language as a vehicle for the spread of the Gospel to the world.
The Metropolitan then blessed New Year’s vasilopita and wished the attendees a creative year.
