In the wake of the passing of Pope Francis, Orthodox Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw extended his heartfelt condolences to representatives of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland.
In official condolence letter, Metropolitan Sawa addressed his messages to Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazzi, Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, and Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda, Metropolitan of Gdańsk and President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.
The Orthodox Church of Poland expressed solidarity and sympathy with the Roman Catholic Church in this time of mourning, acknowledging the significance of Pope Francis’ leadership on the global stage and his role as Bishop of Rome.
