On May 16, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations (DECR), arrived in Beirut for a working visit.
Upon his arrival, Metropolitan Anthony met with Aram I, the head of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. Their meeting took place at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut.
During their conversation, they discussed prospects for cooperation between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Catholicosate of Cilicia, highlighting the importance of fostering dialogue between the Orthodox and Oriental Churches.
Metropolitan Anthony expressed gratitude to the Catholicosate for its steadfast support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Patriarch Aram asked that his fraternal greetings be conveyed to Patriarch Kirill, with whom he has maintained a close relationship for many decades.
