On May 21, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Vatican, Ivan Soltanovsky, at the Patriarchal Metochion of Saint Nicholas in Bari, Italy.
The meeting took place at the Patriarchal Saint Nicholas Representation in the southern Italian city of Bari, an important spiritual center for Orthodox pilgrims due to the presence of the relics of Saint Nicholas.
According to reports, the discussion focused on various matters related to cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation to the Holy See.
