On July 20, with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, arrived in Cyprus for a working visit.
The hierarch was welcomed at Larnaca International Airport by Archpriest Pavel Povalyaev, rector of the Church of St. Nicholas in Limassol.
Later that evening, Metropolitan Anthony celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Church of St. Nicholas on the eve of the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, one of the most venerated Marian feasts in the Russian Orthodox Church.
