Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine visited the Ukrainian youth gathering “Oficcium 2026” on May 23, 2026, at the Ukrainian School of Governance. The event was organized by the Youth Affairs Department of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in partnership with the Ukrainian School of Governance, the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, the social platform “School of Saint Paisios,” and with the support of the company Work.ua.
The event, which brought together more than one hundred young people from across Ukraine, was also attended by Metropolitan Theodore of Poltava and Kremenchuk, Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkiv, Bishop Raphael of Makariv, Ukraine’s Minister of Youth and Sports Matvii Bidnyi, Ukrainian entrepreneur Artur Mykhno, and clergy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine addressed the participants and answered their questions.
Among other things, His Beatitude said that the Lord grants each of us a certain time in earthly life in order to change the world around us for the better. He stressed that Christian values should be the foundation of our lives, while love should be the basis of human actions and the main safeguard against evil. Metropolitan Epifaniy also emphasized the importance of freedom and justice as fundamental factors for the development of society.
His Beatitude further noted that Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines are defending the future of every one of us, and that true moral values form the foundation that enables the state to move forward in the right direction.
In addition, the Primate stated that life is a continuous school of learning and self-improvement, encouraging young people to develop their talents in ways that benefit both their neighbors and the state, while also supporting and encouraging one another.
