On November 30, 2024, the day of the memory of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy in the St. Theodosius Stavropegial Monastery in Kyiv.
Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia and Barskyi, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bilotserkiv, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilskyi, Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkivskyi, Abbot Archimandrite Makariy, brothers of the monastery and invited clergy co-served with the service along with primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
After the reading of the Gospel, the Metropolitan delivered the sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord during this time of peril for Ukraine.
During the Divine Liturgy, prayers were also offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and the people, as well as for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders and civilians.
At the conclusion of the service, a prayer service to St. Andrew the First-Called was held. Following this, Metropolitan Epifaniy addressed the congregation once again, extending congratulations to Archbishop Lavrentiy on the 20th anniversary of his episcopal ordination and his 65th birthday.
The Primate honored Archbishop Lavrentiy with the Order of St. Nicholas and presented him with a commemorative gift.
