An announcement was issued by Metropolitan Demetrios of Princes’ islands in regards to the repose in the Lord of Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kinshasa who lost the battle with Covid-19.
Find below the announcement of Metropolitan Demetrios of Princes’ Islands:
The unpredictable, until just two years ago, pandemic of our days, deprived us of our respected and much-loved brother, Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kinshasa, Mikragiannanitis, the exemplary monk and priest, the rare Teacher and Schoolmaster of Athoniada, the Archbishop admiration modest and humble Man and offspring of respect for a large family.
The youngest son of this blessed family, the also rare in Grace of God and moral Evangelical my favorite monk Nectarios, I had the blessing to be ordained a Deacon (1992) and an Elder (1994).
My brotherly friend for half a century, Nikiforos, one of those who do not exceed five fingers, the one who knows me inwardly and always near me through his prayerful memory and his Gospel tale, but also his mysterious support during the distractions of his life.
The ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria lacks one, I would dare say, unrepeatable High Priest, who for many years selflessly sacrificed his missionary duty, in order for the Light of Christ to appear to His people in Africa forever,
May their memory be eternal!
