Metropolitan Rastislav of the Czech Lands and Slovakia addressed Patriarch Shio III of Georgia during celebrations at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi, expressing prayerful wishes for his newly begun patriarchal ministry.
According to Georgian media outlets, addressing the Georgian Primate, Metropolitan Rastislav said: “Your Holiness, you continue the history of this God-blessed heritage of the Georgian people, while also facing the challenges that exist in the modern world. With all my heart, I pray and wish that the all-merciful Lord may grant you strength, peace, spiritual wisdom, many years, and good health, for you must tirelessly and patiently guide your people along the path of Holy Scripture entrusted to us by God.”
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Georgian and Czech-Slovak Orthodox Churches.
“I firmly believe that the brotherly relations between our Churches will continue to develop and grow stronger, and that with your help this will happen in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation in a world that is in great need of the word of Christ, which brings truth, peace, and understanding among people,” Metropolitan Rastislav stated.
