Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden will be visiting Iceland and its capital Reykjavik, accompanied by Archimandrite Alexandros Loukatos, Head of the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Oslo, from Friday, December 3, to Monday, December 6, 2021.
The Metropolitan will preside over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, which will be performed in the Chapel of the University of Iceland, at Saemundargata 2, 102 Reykjavik, on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 10.00 am.
Metropolitan Cleopas will visit Iceland for the fourth time and will have meetings with state and ecclesiastical officials, as well as with members of the Greek Diaspora and the Hellenic Association of Iceland.
The Metropolitan’s pastoral visit follows the Patriarchal Visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in October 2017, but also the founding of the Parish of Apostle Bartholomew in Reykjavik, in April 2019.
