Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia paid a pastoral visit to Oslo, Norway, on January 18-19, 2020, which is the fifteenth visit since his enthronement.
The Metropolitan arrived in Oslo on Saturday afternoon, January 18, and visited parishioners of the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation.
He then attended a concert by the Norwegian choir “Arkadia”, under the direction of Marilena Zlatanou.
On Saturday night, the Metropolitan attended a luncheon at the invitation of the Ambassador of Greece to Norway, Maria Diamanti. The Consul, Niki Kampa, and Angeliki Kruse – Jensen also attended the luncheon.
On Sunday, January 19, 2020, the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy were performed at the Metropolitan Cathedral.
The Divine Liturgy was performed in Greek, Norwegian, English and French.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan addressed the children, telling them the story of the custom of vasilopita and urging the flock to behave accordingly to the social, philanthropic and church work of Saint Basil the Great. The Metropolitan praised the excellent cooperation of the Metropolis with the Greek communities in Norway.
Immediately afterwards, the Metropolitan of Sweden presided over the meeting with the members of the Church Council of the Metropolitan Cathedral, where current issues were discussed, such as the ongoing renovation and landscaping plans.
On Sunday afternoon, Metropolitan Cleopas performed the Divine Liturgy and attended the luncheon at the premises of the Greek Association in Norway. On Sunday night, he returned to his seat in Stockholm.
