“The Feast of the Epiphany was celebrated in a difficult time,” Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden stressed on MEGA TV in the morning.
“I was about to travel to Denmark because we were given recently a church as a gift. After performing the Great Blessing of the Water service, we would have cast a cross into a lake. However, Sweden closed its border with Denmark due to a mutation of the virus, so I stayed in Stockholm,” he said.
“Things are difficult due to the evolution of the pandemic. The three major ICUs are full of patients. Eight people are allowed in places of worship. We have been observing all precautionary measures,” he added.
“Every state and every society is trying to update its precautionary measures against the virus. There was no problem a few months ago but the situation worsened. We did not cast a holy cross in Stockholm,” he pointed out.
“We started [performing the service] in Denmark two years ago,” said the Metropolitan of Sweden and all Scandinavia.
