Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus called on people to participate in the protest rally for Macedonia, which will be held on Sunday, January 20, at Syntagma Square.
As he stated in his call for action, the Prespes Agreement blatantly offends Greece’s 3,000-year history and abolishes every concept of law.
In addition, he referred to “the most disrespectful claims and challenges of a hybrid state structure and a historical fraud”.
He also pointed out that Euro-Atlantic alliance supporters “are in favour of this state structure at the expense of Greece, because they want its accession to NATO and to deter Russia from penetrating into the Western Balkans”.
Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus underlined that the recognition of the neighboring country as “Northern Macedonia” under the Prespes Agreement is the springboard to the expansion intended by the counterfeiters of history at the expense of Greece.
He also called not to support “a fraudulent agreement that undermines our national security and establishes the unhistorical irredentist claims of Skopje”.
He asked not to defile the names of Macedonian heroes such as Pavlos Melas, Aggeliki Philippidou and Telos Agras.
