At the end of Sunday Mass on July 21, Metropolitan Klimis of Peristeri visited the temples of the Metropolis who were affected by the earthquake, which hit Attica on Friday, July 19, 2019.
In particular, he went to the Church of Saint Georgios in Kipoupoli, where the crosses of the two bell towers collapsed. Then he went to the Church of The Exaltation of The Holy Cross where the cross of the dome collapsed. The last temple to visit was the historic Church of Saint Hierotheus, where the earthquake caused damages to the building.
The Metropolitan gave instructions for further detailed investigation and asked the priests to ensure that all the seismic damages would be immediately repaired.
