On Thursday, March 27, 2025, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras from the Church of Greece visited Archbishop Elpidophoros of America at the Archdiocese headquarters in New York, New York.
Archbishop Elpidophoros announced that, starting this year, a representative of the Church of Greece will be included among the honorees of the Greek Independence Day Parade, emphasizing the Church’s pivotal role in the struggle for Independence.
Metropolitan Chrysostomos was honored as the first of such representatives.
