The Metropolitan Cathedral of St. John the Theologian in Tenafly, New Jersey celebrated its feast day on Friday, September 26, 2025. Metropolitan Apostolos celebrated the hierarchical liturgy joined by Chancellor Fr. Gregory Gilbert, Cathedral Dean Fr. Panagiotis Lekkas and area clergy.
Following the liturgy, his sermon, His Eminence reminded the faithful that as Saint John wrote in His Epistle, Christ first loved us, in that way we ought to love Christ with all of our ability. This love is what will connect us with God. His Eminence thanked the faithful for their efforts to be present and pray and asked that they continue praying for the well being of the Church as encouraged by St. John.
Following the service, the community hosted His Eminence and the gathered faithful for a brunch in honor of the feast.
