The Metropolis of Lagadas celebrated the commemoration of the Resurrection of Lazarus with the festive Archieratic Divine Liturgy held by Metropolitan Ioannis of Lagadas, Liti and Redini.
During the Vesper and the Divine Liturgy, Ioannis emphasized in his speech, among others, that “The Resurrection of Lazarus signifies the glory of the Lord. God himself approaches and reveals the human relation with Lazarus, through their friendship. At the same time, God presents Himself as He who gives Life and Death, announcing to each of us Christ’s Resurrection, which is an event of revival and New Creation”.
Referring to the call “Lazarus, come forth!”, the Metropolitan of Lagadas stressed that it is the life-giving voice that bears the power for existential regeneration.
“Saint Lazarus gives us the opportunity, with the power of forgiveness, to overcome our passions and weaknesses by accepting a Christian life. Life with Christ is a Life of Joy, Hope and Happiness. If we have faith, everything becomes brighter and holier”, concluded Metropolitan of Lagadas.
