Metropolitan of Kyiv: The Ecumenical Patriarch has been and remains a shining beacon of wisdom

Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine sent a message on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the birth of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

In his message, he praised the Ecumenical Patriarch’s invaluable contribution as a spiritual leader, highlighting his deep commitment to the unity of the Church, the defense of truth, and the promotion of peace and justice throughout the world.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the Ecumenical Patriarch’s unwavering support and paternal love for the local Church and the Ukrainian people, emphasizing the importance of his work for the entire Orthodox world. With deep gratitude and respect, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine honors the 85th birthday of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The Primate of the Mother Church has been and remains a shining beacon of wisdom, justice, and spiritual guidance for the entire Orthodox world. Through his commitment to the unity of the Church, the promotion of peace, and the defense of the oppressed, he stands as a living example of selfless service.

The last day of February marks the birth of an exceptional personality – a wise, just, sincere, kind-hearted, and truthful spiritual leader, an indefatigable champion of our times, the First among Primates, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

Although, in reality, His All-Holiness’ birthday falls only once every four years, on February 29 – an aspect that further underscores the uniqueness of this extraordinary figure – on behalf of the fullness of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, we express our sincere gratitude for his multifaceted support and assistance to the Ukrainian people. On the occasion of Patriarch Bartholomew’s 85th birthday, we offer him our deepest respect and fervent prayers.

May the Lord strengthen you with good health, inspiration, and strength. May He bless you with success in the fulfillment of your heartfelt, ascetic and truly apostolic mission: the strengthening of the great Church of Christ, service to the glory of God and the good of His people, and the establishment of peace, unity and justice throughout the world.

Many years, Your All-Holiness!
