On April 30, 2026, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine received military chaplains of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine at his residence at the Saint Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery.
The chaplains are completing their studies through a specialized training program at the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
During the meeting, the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine spoke with the clergy about the vital role of chaplaincy in offering spiritual support to Ukrainian soldiers defending their homeland amid the ongoing full-scale Russian aggression. He underscored the importance of prayer, resilience, unity, and self-sacrifice in carrying out this ministry.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Metropolitan Epifaniy encouraged the chaplains to remain steadfast in their mission, continuing to serve and support the Ukrainian armed forces.
On the occasion of Border Guard Day, he also extended his greetings to those chaplains ministering to personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, wishing them strength, inspiration, and God’s help in their service.
