On February 14, 2026, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine met at the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy with children—the youngest scouts—and their parents.
The Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine was accompanied by the Rector of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, Archpriest Yaroslav Romanchuk.
His Beatitude prayed with the young scouts, spoke with them, and presented them with gifts.
Addressing the children’s parents, Metropolitan Epifaniy emphasized the importance of proper upbringing of the younger generation, stressing that love for Ukraine and respect for one’s neighbor should be instilled from an early age, virtually from the cradle. He noted that the enemy seeks to destroy the Ukrainian people, but will not succeed, as the strength of Ukrainians lies in unity, faith, and persistent, dedicated work.
His Beatitude underlined the need to pray and work for a common victory, forging it not only on the front lines but also in the rear through the daily, responsible efforts of each person. He also highlighted the role of scouting as a formative environment for youth, fostering national consciousness and contributing to the strengthening of spiritual and national identity.
He further called on all to remember and pray for those defending Ukraine on the front lines and for all who have given their lives for the freedom and future of the country.
