On August 23, 2025, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine received in his residence the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Lithuania, Hieromonk Justin (Kiviloo), who was accompanied by the Chancellor of the Lithuanian Exarchate, Archpriest Vitalijus Mockus, and a representative of the Exarchate’s press office.
The guests from Lithuania arrived in Kyiv to take part in events marking Ukraine’s Independence Day and the National Prayer Breakfast. During the All-Night Vigil, clergy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate prayed at the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral.
Following the service, in the residence of the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine, discussions focused on inter-Orthodox relations and the current religious situation in Lithuania and Ukraine.
The participants also addressed the anti-Christian stance and destructive role of the Moscow Patriarchate, which actively supports Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
The meeting concluded in a spirit of brotherly love and prayerful wishes for a just peace for Ukraine, with both sides exchanging commemorative gifts.
After the official part of the visit, the Primate of the OCU gave the guests a tour of the residence and invited them to dinner.
