Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv had a meeting with Pope Francis in Rome today during which he emphasized the importance of uniting the efforts of all people of goodwill to achieve a just peace for Ukraine and Europe. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Pope for the humanitarian aid provided to Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression.
Metropolitan Epifaniy also conveyed deep appreciation for the Pope’s unwavering call to all believers to pray for peace in Ukraine.
In Rome, prayers for Ukraine will be offered with renewed inspiration at the Church of St. Theodore, under the Ecumenical Patriarchate, as well as in Bari at the Basilica of St. Nicholas, near the saint’s sacred relics.
The Metropolitan expressed his faith that, through the intercession of saints and the prayers of millions of faithful worldwide, the time will come when truth triumphs, and a blessed peace will be established on Ukrainian soil.
