On July 6, 2025, the fourth Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine consecrated the Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, in the village of Krasylivka, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The local community had devoted twenty-five years to the construction of this sacred place.
During the consecration and Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Joasaph of Ivano-Frankivsk and Halych, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, the parish priest Archpriest Serhiy Stefurak, alongside local and visiting clergy, concelebrated with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Among the faithful were numerous defenders of the homeland, many parishioners, and the Governor of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Svitlana Onyshchuk, who joined in prayer.
Following the Gospel reading, His Beatitude delivered a sermon, reflecting on faith, hope, and the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
During the service, the Primate offered a special prayer to the Lord in these perilous times for the homeland. He also led supplications for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for government leaders, and for the entire nation.
At the conclusion of the liturgy, Metropolitan Epifaniy congratulated the community on the consecration of their church—a place for personal and communal prayer, a sanctuary for intercession for Ukraine and its modern-day heroes, and a beacon of unity and good works. He noted that the church now stands as a proud adornment of Krasylivka village.
As a gesture of blessing and spiritual encouragement, the Metropolitan presented a personalized epitrachelion (priestly stole) of the Primate to the rector, Archpriest Serhiy Stefurak. Additionally, he awarded distinguished church honors to Ukraine’s defenders, educators, clergy, medical workers, and patrons who have supported the community.
Metropolitan Joasaph expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Primate for the consecration of the house of God. Svitlana Onyshchuk expressed sincere thanks to Metropolitan Epifaniy and all clergy for their unwavering support of Ukraine’s defenders and their continual prayers.
The Divine Liturgy concluded with the traditional Mnogaya Leta (Many Years) hymn, blessing all present.
