On the occasion of the election of Metropolitan Ioannis as the new Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine extended his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Metropolitan Epifaniy expressed his joy at the election, stating: “On behalf of myself and the entirety of our sister Orthodox Church of Ukraine, we sincerely congratulate His Beatitude, Archbishop Ioannis, and wish him many blessed years of service on this sacred throne to his Local Church, the pious people, and the fullness of Orthodoxy!”
He also assured the newly elected Archbishop of Albania of his prayers, adding: “We pray for you, for the Albanian Orthodox Church, and ask for your prayers for our Local Church and Ukraine, for the triumph of truth and a just peace.”

Today, on the Second Sunday of Great Lent, the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Church of Albania elected a new Primate – Archbishop Ioannis.
On behalf of myself and the entirety of our sister Orthodox Church of Ukraine, we sincerely congratulate His Beatitude, Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania, Metropolitan of Tirana-Durrës-Elbasan, Ioannis, and wish the new hierarch many blessed years of service on this sacred throne to his Local Church, the pious people, and the fullness of Orthodoxy!
