On the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost, August 10, 2025, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in the capital.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Archbishop Ahapit of Vyshhorod, abbot of the Golden-Domed Monastery; Bishop Yefrem of Vasylkiv; the venerable brotherhood of the monastery; and invited clergy.
Following the reading of the Holy Gospel, the Metropolitan delivered a primatial sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord for Ukraine, which is enduring a time of great trials and danger.
During the service, petitions were also offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the authorities and the people, and for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who have died during the war.
In addition, Metropolitan Epifaniy performed the priestly ordination of Deacon Taras Bihun.
