On March 5, 2026, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine blessed a specialized ambulance vehicle in the courtyard of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery and handed it over for the needs of the social service department of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Kyiv, known as “Paravolan.”
The vehicle will be used by the unit led by Roman Kholodov, a graduate of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy. The group is actively involved in evacuating wounded Ukrainian defenders from areas of conflict, and the newly acquired ambulance is expected to significantly support this critical mission.
Later, at his residence, Metropolitan Epifaniy expressed gratitude to the benefactors whose donations made it possible to purchase and equip the ambulance. In recognition of their support, he presented church awards to the donors as well as to Roman Kholodov.
He emphasized that every joint effort to assist Ukrainian soldiers contributes to bringing the country closer to victory. He also stressed the crucial importance of timely evacuation and medical assistance in the first hours after a soldier is wounded, noting that such immediate care can save the lives of Ukraine’s defenders.
