Metropolitan of Kydonia: It is absurd and evil to not repent

Metropolitan Damaskinos of Kydonia and Apokoronas on Palm Sunday

On Sunday, April 21, Metropolitan Damaskinos of Kydonia and Apokoronas officiated the Archieratic Divine Liturgy at the Temple of the Holy Cross in Alikianos, Chania.

The Metropolitan, in his speech, stressed that our Lord had entered the city of Jerusalem humbly on a donkey, morose and with his head bent.

“And that’s because he saw and forsaw among the crowd that the path He followed and this reception had nothing to do with the mission He had come to the world for, to fulfill His Father’s economy and to sacrifice Himself for the freedom of the human race.

It is humane and sensible to sin as human beings, but it is never humane, on the contrary it is absurd and evil, to not repent and ask for the mercy of God.”
