The Locum Tenens of the Archdiocese of Tirana, Metropolitan John of Korçë, met with young people and delivered a thought-provoking address on the timely topic of “The Meaning of Spiritual Life,” coinciding with the beginning of the Triodion period.
It is undeniable that late Archbishop Anastasios, through his words, actions, and tireless efforts, played a pivotal role in establishing a vibrant core of young people in Tirana with a strong spiritual orientation.
Addressing this group, Metropolitan John called on them to remain in a state of constant vigilance and spiritual awareness.
It is worth noting that people, and especially the youth, engage in many struggles in life. Life itself is a struggle, followed by efforts for social advancement, financial independence, and professional stability.
However, among these various pursuits, there exists one struggle that stands apart—the spiritual struggle—unique both in its prerequisites and its ultimate goals.
In this spiritual endeavor, which every young person—and indeed every individual—is called to undertake, one has the extraordinary opportunity to cultivate their spiritual potential and test their inner strength. Even if one stumbles or falters, returning to a life of faith and spiritual renewal enables a victorious path forward.
