Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia was tested positive for COVID-19 few days ago.
With the help of the doctors who are watching him, he is afebrile and with the help of the Lord he hopes and expects an immediate return to his spiritual and administrative duties near the flock of the Holy Diocese.
As reported by kalavrytanews.com, after its communication with the spokesman of the Holy Metropolis, Athanasios Liakopoulos, the Metropolitan developed symptoms and took the test, which came out positive. Immediately after his diagnosis he started being treated at home. Priests and staff of the Holy Metropolis are also in self-quarantine and according to information, none of Metropolitan’s associates has been tested positive so far.
As reported by kalavrytanews.com, the infection of the Metropolitan by COVID-19 has nothing to do with his recent presence in Attica, but it is most likely that the Metropolitan fell ill from an unknown person, one of the many with whom he comes in daily contact, despite the fact that by his order, the Diocese strictly observes the preventive measures, masks and necessary distances.
It should be noted that in none of the temples has there been an issue with COVID-19 and of course, after the lockdown Divine Liturgy and Holy Services are performed without the presence of believers and with few participants, based on the protocol and the Circular of the Standing Holy Synod of Greece.
