With the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Metropolitan Irenaios of Florina, Prespes and Eordaia paid a pastoral visit to the Church of Panagia Kamariani in Red Hill, Melbourne.
The Metropolitan was received with due respect by Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, together with the Parish Priest, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Fr. Irenaios, and members of the parish community.
Upon his arrival, Metropolitan Irenaios entered the holy church, venerated the sacred icon of Panagia Kamariani, and offered prayers with reverence. This was followed by a tour of the parish facilities, during which he had the opportunity to become personally acquainted with the life, infrastructure, and multifaceted activities of the local parish.
Afterwards, the Metropolitan and his entourage attended an afternoon meal in a warm and fraternal atmosphere. During the gathering, Fr. Irenaios briefed the Metropolitan on the parish’s spiritual and pastoral initiatives, placing special emphasis on the upcoming “Philotimo” Festival, which will be held in the courtyard of the church. The festival aims to support the youth ministry of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, under the guidance of Bishop Kyriakos through the Archdiocesan youth initiatives in Melbourne.
A particularly moving moment followed, when Metropolitan Irenaios presented Bishop Kyriakos with a commemorative gift as a blessing and a token of brotherly love. He also offered small keepsakes from the Holy Metropolis of Florina, Prespes and Eordaia to all parish members, expressing his gratitude and spiritual appreciation for their warm hospitality.
Concluding his visit, Metropolitan Irenaios warmly thanked Bishop Kyriakos and Fr. Irenaios for their heartfelt welcome and generous hospitality, conveying his best wishes for continued progress, spiritual fruitfulness, and the ongoing success of the parish’s important work, to the glory of God and the edification of His people.
