The III International Scientific Conference of the Ancient Cypriot Literature was launched at the Presidential Palace of Cyprus under the general title “The Ancient Cypriot Literature over the centuries”, focusing on “From Homer and Hesiod to the Ancient Cypriot Literature”.
Metropolitan Markos of Chios, Psara and Oinousses was the first speaker, giving a conference on “The Fathers of the Church and Homer”.
This morning, the Metropolitan of Chios, accompanied by the Mayor of Chios and former Minister Constantinos Mousouroulis were welcomed by Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus at his office in the Archdiocese of Cyprus.
The Metropolitan of Chios awarded the Golden Cross of Saint Isidoros to the Archbishop of Cyprus, accompanied with a letter sent by the Metropolis of Chios, Psara and Oinousses, recognizing and rewarding the precious services of the Archbishop of Cyprus in the Church and in the ministry of faith.
Archbishop Chrysostomos offered to the Metropolitan of Chios and the Mayor of Chios a silver plate featuring the founders of the Church of Cyprus, Apostle Pavlos and Apostle Barnabas.
The Metropolitan of Chios will be in Cyprus until Saturday, March 30.
