On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon, serving as the Patriarchal Commissioner, presided over the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, celebrated at the namesake Church in the Ypsomatheia district of Constantinople.
The homily was delivered by Deacon Eulogios Tsatsas, Codicographer of the Holy and Sacred Synod.
Following the Dismissal, Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, Supervisor of the Ypsomatheia district, offered a warm greeting to the Patriarchal Commissioner.
In his reply, Metropolitan Emmanuel spoke about the significance of the day’s feast and its spiritual meaning for the faithful.
On the eve of the feast, His Eminence also presided over Great Vespers at the venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George.
